Show me the Data ? Most companies that list go into two categories 1. mature profitable companies with substantial revenue and 2. Companies that are in "discovery and proof stage" ie Mining companies holding ground , Bio -Research heading to commercialization , Tech - Software building a base - Most in category 2 will not be profitable for many years after listing as they are using the market to fund their products.
Companies in category 2 are valued at far greater multiples than those in cat due to "prospectivity" , those in Cat 1 are valued generally on forward P/E or yield.
