And the patient - under anaesthetic - knows nothing about it ?
My mind is boggling
........ I think you are saying the surgeon might like the colour of the handle, or the new shape of a particular scalpel or something and try it out for the first time on the patient at hand as a trial run ?
Or insert an osteopore strip or pin (if there was one) rather than a titanium device simply because a convincing sales person happens to be standing in the operating theatre on that day ?
Or gives it as a free sample or whatever ?
That can’t be right ...

As to why the surgeons and doctors don’t know about or promote the best ....
Big Pharma I guess?
