IR legislation is a problem for all businesses hiring labour. Just not the scope of potential wage rises but also the administration of onerous complex legislation. My experience is that over time, business and community pressure + changes of government remove the complexities and any perceived injustices. Just wait till mum and dad see the spike in their fruit bills for instance.
Unions have a habit of over reaching with weak, woke Labor governments & this one is a doozy. But they will be reined in over time. If I am not mistaken, SXE have a number of enterprise agreements in place so maybe the impacts won’t be as severe + I suspect Trivantage (what a brilliant acquisition) will have pass on cost clauses in place.
