    and for your 18 year old (and under) children, an awa cannot be imposed without the consent of the parent. as you can see, there is no chance of exploitation, without the consent of the parent.

    and if you are a current employee, who works under the award, just keep in mind, that it is not all that hard for you to be shown the door, unless of course you voluntarily (ie no compulsion at all) agree to sign a AWA. of course, the AWA that you might agreed to, includes terms and conditons that you have sat down and negotiated with the employer.

    if perchance you have negotiated an agreement, that strips away some "fairness" - then it will be reassuring to know that the workplace ombudsman, may eventually get around to dealing with your problem.

    try and look behind the intent of the original legislation, there was no fairness test and there was a "work choices" mk 2, on the agenda, for after the election. one can only wonder what that entailed.
