What nonsense, with business losing the flexibility to employ casuals to suit the needs of the business, what it means is business will under employ rather than over employ..

That is not good for the unemployment rate.

The main purpose of casual labour is to offer flexibility to business where it is required. IE: peak periods, extra staff required at specific times of the day or week.

Casual labour is perfect for business in certain industries.

There is a need for casual, part time and full time employment to suit the varying needs of business.

Imagine Sydney coming to life with an event and you can't adjust your business needs by calling in casual staff, or you have people away sick and you can't call in casual staff.

There go all the kids jobs in Coles, Woolworths, all the uni students working in hospitality, all the extra labourers and warehouse staff required for when business has a peak or extra busy period.

Employing only full time or part time workers will put extra pressure on business that is not required.

Casual labour certainly has its place in many businesses and needs to remain!!
