It would be an enormous mistake for the US to foresake Israel. Apart from the ethics of such a move it would be very reminsicent of the abandonment of Checkoslavakia prior to W11.

In relation to Iran, whilst I agree it certainly is formenting trouble in Iraq, there is a very strong movement agianst the Muslim clerics amongst the educated younger generation, which needs to be encouraged by the West for the long term benefit oftheregion and the world. A difficult task indeed
