The point was to show his hypocrisy over feigned concern for "law" (whether international law or human rights and women), given Iran's recent attack of Israel with its barrage of drones/missiles.
It sounds good in theory but we don't live in a isolated bubble that's limited to only commercial exchanges. The problem is they're human rights violations that amount to crimes against humanity (just for being women or of an ethnic or religious minority) under Iran's regime and becomes a international issue (e.g. refugees). You'll agree this isn't the same as an aging population.
Iran had close ties with Israel and was the second Muslim country to recognise it. That only changed because of the Islamic revolution in 1997 which led to their theocratic regime. Israel is dominant militarily but it's vastly an Arab-Muslim region geographically.
