Netanyahu doesn’t really care about hostages…to him they are simply political tools and if they got accidentally rescued it is a political bonus.
This indifference to Israeli and the Jewish diaspora is a common historical theme amongst it leaders, especially if it involves exports or gaining supportive votes on the world stage.
The only rescue that I can recall that didn’t involve exports or votes was the rescue of Israelis in Entebbe Uganda. I believe Netanyahu and his brother were involved!
