Do you think Mermaid would be in this position if it had not purchased Jaya as a bolt on acquition for 600 million dollars
How much money do you think operating the Darwin supply base would have made them (cost about 100 million dollars)
Mermaid were actually being sold off before oil price tanked. The Jaya acquisition was the biggest blunder which caught all the instos by surprise and was most certainly catalyst for short selling of company. And not winning the tender to operate Darwin supply base was the second biggest blunder
However - if the board renews itself and does not declare a dividend - there is a possibility the share price could stabilize in the 40 - 50 cents mark
