The democratic world has a right to protect assets that are vital to the world economy, ie Oil coming out of the gulf area, it's ignorant to ignore such vital and important resource that if disrupted could really do some global economic damage, all America is doing is protecting those assets.
If anyone tries to do a cunning undercut and do damage again like what was done last week, then there will be protection for those assets and global interests, is it really such a mystery or a surprise who might have done those attacks last week.
If an aggressor decides to ignore the common courtesy and becomes rogue then consequence is the outcome.
The equation really isn't that hard, it only gets hard when people try to throw in too many spices in the omelette and then the majority of people won't eat it because it's too much of hot and spicy. Keep it straight and simple.
