Four years & five months to process a claim for refugee status. IMO that is an absolute disgrace & a very bad reflection on Australia.

So now we have the dubious record of SievX, Tampa, Children Overboard, riots & deaths in detention, the grossly excessive detention of legitimate refugees, ...

At other times we have managed refugees via much more humane means. In Wodonga for example we have recently succesffuly played host to refugees from Kosova & Somalia. IMO it beyond time that Australia stopped the xenophobic discrimination, accepted its global responsibilities & treated these poor buggers moe humanely.

Perhaps the Howard Govt. in particular as well as those of Rudd & Gillard [including what must have been bureaucratic incompetence] should be tried for crimes against humanity.
