I cannot see how this iranian in detention could qualify for refugee status as well as citizenship!!
The citizenship would have to be void because when doing the oath don't you have to have certain intentions etc... and values regarding attitude towards the governance of the country you are seeking citizenship. Given this person supposedly was stressed by such governance before seeking citizenship and continued the claim once citizenship was claimed the question has to be asked did he have intent to be a citizen of Australia by upholding the various values etc...
The other argument is how could he qualify to be a refugee?? This is on the basis if he was under stress in detention why did he not seek refugee status away from Australia?? Why did he not seek stress claims from his country of origin?? If he is a refugee before Australia and of Australia due to the stress then surely his citizenship request is not based on refugee status to Australia given the stress but welfare request it appears because how can Australia be a sanctuary for him if Australia is putting him under stress???
