It does make you wonder about the shelf-life of GO, if broadband enabled sat phones will be available in 2016. (although I note it has taken WRR/Iridium almost 2 years just to get their GO product to market)
Did Iridium outsource the development of GO to WRR(and funded by WRR) becasue they knew it was just going to be a stop-gap type solution?
The exercise has been very beneficial for WRR as they have proved that they are at the forefront of satphone development,and has given them excellent credibiltiy as an OEM. Hopefully, it will also still prove to be a highly profitable exercise as well.
