Consensus is that major industrial consumers bought up a stockpile then stopped buying when China subsidies on EVs were withdrawn. There are always commodity cycles in raw materials like iron ore, coal, copper etc - and Li is no exception - but rather because it is a new commodity the cycles are magnified.

As Buffett said - if you liked the stock at $10 why would you not like it at $1, if fundamentals are the same.
