Fair go Hairy. I am a lawyer but nobody today would call me a leftie. I confess I was - very much so - in my University days and thereafter, but like most people, with maturity comes wisdom.
I don't have a problem with homosexual couples having legal unions, but not "marriage". Marriage is a concept that has served civilisation well for millenia, for good reason. Try a different legal concept, why are some so insistent on stealing marriage?
BTW I am not religious, not even in the slightest.
