It has certainly received more publicity since the Rose Batty incident. Anything to reduce/stop it is good of course but you will never stop it entirely. Yes, some women commit violence against their men. However, the shelters are predominently full of women.
I don't see that DV is a subject for humour. To treat it as such trivialises it.
