Yes it's the wettest summer I have seen in Australia. Not a whole lot of nice sunny days and when they do happen it's pretty sticky! Hope you hold up well.
And I am not disagreeing with your points. Obviously if you want to retire you will have to protect your wealth. You don't do that by holding all or a very large part of your wealth in one stock.
Just wanted to point out a few counter arguments to the idea profits aren't really until crystallized...Pretty sure Warren Buffet wouldn't agree. His favorite investment time is forever
