iron clad savings

Hello Folks,
does anyone remember back to a day when you really had to save for everything?I certainly do.Dad opened an account for us at the bank long before we knew what saving for this & that meant.The bank clerk also gave my brother & I an extra secure bank deposit box It was about 7inch by 4 with inward downward curved claws all made out of metal.This meant any money put in you couldn't get out.Only a bank clerk could do this.You couldn't even withdraw money yourself. A parent had to be with you.We had a whole year to conjure up ways of how we were going to spend it.The easter fair was meant to be our target.Plus a few dinky toys.My point is although through no fault of our own a lot of folk have been treated very badly over a long period of time.From the lesson I learned a long time ago.These so called money managers will never lesson my will to save & get on with life.
