I think our education was tragicly lacking and totally out of touch with what might assist in protecting, saving, investing your hard earned.
MFS history lessons instead of Algebra,imo.
Australia is a two speed population or maybe three speed.

employees
government ranks

They live in different financial worlds
different rules risks lurks perks and the casms between their differences are not understood.

Perhaps when we start our education we should opt for one or other group because the skills required for each are so different, its almost like having to know 3 languages imo...

Perhaps thats why we all get taught the useless stuff like Algebra....cos anything really useful might cause contraversy...and I dont think the teachers, employees for government even know whats out there in the real world...let alone teach our children anything about it.
