I still don't get this Winter Olympics excuse. When there was unprecedented poor air quality on the East Coast of Australia with the bushfires 18 months ago and then it rained and extinguished the source of the pollution, the air quality dramatically improved in a matter of days. It didn't take six months for the smoke to dissipate. Should be broadly similar with pollution from Chinese steel mills, especially as not many of them are anywhere near the actual site of the outdoor events.
