IRON ORE FEED FOR PIG IRON PLANT

Aviva Corporation Ltd and the Tiwest Joint Venture have entered into a
Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) whereby Aviva will have the exclusive
right for up two years to conclude a domestic sales agreement with Tiwest for
the iron oxide produced at the Chandala Synthetic Rutile facility.
The Becher Synthetic Rutile process employed by Tiwest at Chandal
produces a very fine iron oxide by-product, which Aviva believes will be
suitable for making pig iron in the Rotary Hearth technologies offered by
Midrex/Kobe Steel. Tiwest produces approximately 100,000 tonnes per
annum of iron oxide grading 60% Fe (dry basis). The material is less than 2
micron in size and exits the plant with a moisture content of around 16%
The material is currently trucked back to the Cooljarloo mine 110km north of
Chandala which is just 100km south of the Central West Coal project.
Tiwest retains the option to sell the iron oxide into export markets but will
provide samples of material to Aviva for Direct Reduction test work by Midrex.
The MOU continues to promote Eneabba and the Central West Coal Project
as an Industry and Energy Hub in the Midwest and will encourage the
participation of other development partners.
