Trading makes up a large percentage of the mkt - I've heard as high as 70% of trades are proprietary trading.

So if the long traders are only in for a week or two then are they any better than the shorters?

It strange that whenever a share price under-performs people scream market manipulation and death to shorters (see TSE recently).

Surely if a price is artificially lowered then this is a good thing as long term buyers can pick up more at a discount.

What these people are really telling me is they have little idea about how a market functions.
