2. We had a stab at calculating how much “in the money” the short sellers were in Fortescue Metals (FMG). We determined it is in the order of $735 million. It was $860m a few days ago. This is going to evaporate pretty quickly given how fast the market has turned, how fast the fortune has changed regarding refinancing etc. There could be the mother of all short squeezes in this one.
