Port at Dampier appears to have just closed as precaution due to Cyclone, this will impact RIO output in the short term. Port Headland which is further east has no impact to operations .
Below is part of the Pilbara Port authority latest alert.
"The port of Dampier will officially close at 1000am (12 March 2015). All Dampier anchorages are closed to new arrivals with the exception of vessels proceeding to their designated cyclone moorings and small vessels seeking safe haven.
The port of Ashburton closed at 0800am this morning (12 March 2015). The ports will remain closed until further advice from PPA’s Harbour Masters.
There are no significant impact to operations at the port of Port Hedland."
