I also believe they don't need a deal but the market is focused on that mole (debt) I believe management will do the best they can to try and keep FMG 100% aussie owned.
Selling a stake is not a bad thing, RIO/BHP are owned by other parties, but could you imagine long term if FMG manage to keep it in aussie hands and manage to repay the 2019 debt load.
It would be an Aussie first and the SP would be greatly rewarded for it
