I am going to write a long answer in the hope i teach you a couple of things.
1. Taking on the LNG assets will add to the wealth of FMG.
2. The amazing management team at FMG will grow that asset by by 1.75 times within 12 months.
3. Investment grade stock can attract debt at 1% lower.
4. The short term debt will be liked by the market because it will show the market that it is short term their for FMG is not hopefully going to pay it back but they do infact have the product to pay it back.
5. Look how the large investment stocks all over the world do it. They execute takeovers with debt. It shows the market that they have a healthy balance sheet and the new entity will pay the debt and end up being an asset.
I can teach you more if you like or just look at GE or BHP or APPLE or many others.
