I don't think you understand options trading. You don't lose an infinite amount of money. Your loss is capped. It is often cheap to buy puts or calls well out of the money and that are running against current sentiment. But they are worth huge amounts if things suddenly go in your direction (e.g. buying puts prior to Brexit).
