rcman can access the Platts price and posts it each morning. Many of us appreciate this. It is up to date and the latest price. Of interest the Dalian price is below the level when Platts bottomed around $44.00 so the physical market looks stronger than the futures market. Platts is the relevant price since it is the benchmark to compare with FMG's costs. Based on Sep quarter FMG costs were $38 + $8.50 D&A for a total of $46.50 Probably $1.00 lower this quarter. Pressing down on BHP which only quotes C1 so we do not really have a comparable breakeven. FMG has similar C1 but has a higher discount for grade (reduced) and higher interest costs also reducing).
