I say BS to the steel mills buying up extra ore now. They are working hand to mouth and port stockpiles have eased with volumes from Australia and Brazil down in January mostly due to weather related events. I think that explains a little tightness and improvement in the IO price. China was buying more in December (a record) because the price was cheaper sub US$40
