1H16: Very +Ve Result Underscored By Margin Expansion & Deleveraging = Big NPAT Upgrades!
1H16 an impressive result & big upgrades – The iron ore price was down 39% YoY and 17% HoH yet FMG delivered 9-10% uplift in EBITDA margin which underscored the $600m EBITDA turnaround. Reported NPAT was flattish YoY (-4%) whist HoH represented a $344m NPAT turnaround. Rolling 1H16 margin expansion into 2H16 and beyond has underscored significant earnings upgrades for FY16-18 - 36% to >100%
