Residents near dams upstream of Nova Lima and Ouro Preto will be evacuated
On Wednesday (20), Vale announced the withdrawal of residents of communities located in the Autosalvamento Zone (ZAS) of the Vargem Grande dam, in Nova Lima, a city belonging to the Metropolitan Region of Belo Horizonte. In the same note, Vale also announces that it is preparing for the relocation of residents of Ouro Preto that are close to inactive upstream dams of the company. About 75 people living near five dams must leave their homes today in an orderly fashion.
