otherwise you can be easily confused by different earnings rates, eg you might fall into he trap of thinking a 6% interest on a bank account is worth more than a 5% franked dividend.
also multiply a franked dividend by 1.43 to get its real rate of before tax return, that way you can compare it to other types of return more easily.
