I think this article below well describes why FMG fell yesterday, as it was the last day prior to options expiry and this can lead to trading behavior that seems to disconnect with other factors in the market. What I don't know, is whether or not we can use options data to get an insight in advance to how the trading might be affected on these days prior to expiry. Kind of like - in theory - if the dalian goes up after our market closes and the spot price of ore goes up as well, then FMG should rise at the open the following day.
This is an area I'd like to know a bit more about. Any thoughts / tips / key bits of knowledge from experienced options traders to help a newbie?
