Here’s another interesting fact about Rio’s performance so far this qtr.

Courtesy of Mysteel (weblink at bottom of post), below are the no of tonnes it has shipped in Oct 2018 and 2019 respectively. The quarterly advised that heavy maintenance concluded on 6 Oct. even stripping out the first week of Oct, Rio so far this month has shipped 13.6mt vs 15.5mt last year.

That’s an avg of 4.5mt per week. If it’s going to hit the bottom of their sales forecast of 320mt, they will have to do 7mt per week (63mt in total over next 9 weeks). They may very well hit it but those weekly shipments of 4.5mt per week will need to increase by about 50% here on end....
