there is a petition out for an inquiry into algorithmic trading and shorting on the ASX
my logic about algorithmic trading is
if it doesnt influence the market why do it?
short answer - it must influence trading otherwise they would not do it - even to attempt to do this is illegal!!!
so the market is being illegally influenced to the detriment of investors by small trades that would be uneconomic for the normal trader
