Brazil now stands at number nine in the world for infections, yet Bolsonaro wants to open up the country, and the international borders with neighbouring countries are not even closed yet! Its recorded cases are now above Iran and China, if you can believe the numbers from either of those countries.Recorded cases just went over 100,000.Deaths surging to over 7,000.

No flattening of the curve here.
Yet this is the scene in Brasilia, Brazil, yesterday!Brazil’s president, Jair Bolsonaro, has spent another weekend stirring up street protests in defiance of his own health ministry’s appeals for citizens to stay at home because of coronavirus.
On Sunday lunchtime Bolsonaro appeared outside his palace in the capital, Brasília, where a crowd of several hundred hardcore supporters had gathered with yellow and green flags and vuvuzelas.
Brazil’s far-right leader embraced and shook hands with admirers as the throng shouted anti-left slogans such as:“Our flag will never be red!”
“I’m certain of one thing: we have the people on our side [and] the armed forces are on the side of the people,” Bolsonaro said.
Vales largest iron ore mine system is in Para state, deep in the Amazon rain forest.
Carajás Mine, the world’s largest iron ore mine, is located in the state of Para in northern Brazil. Fully owned by Brazilian miner Vale (CVRD), it holds 7.2 billion metric tonnes of iron ore in proven and probable reserves.
This is the latest report available on the situation in Para state:At the mouth of the Amazon, the city of Belem's intensive-care beds are all occupied, according to online media outlet G1.
As the number of cases rose in the capital of Para state, its health secretary said this week that at least 200 medical staff had been infected. The state is actively seeking to hire more doctors, G1 reported.

Belem, as seen from the Amazon.
So, with all of the complex logistics involved with remote location mining, deep in the Amazon jungle, will Vale be able to maintain production of IO?
I just don't think so. 310-340mt for CY2020 looks unrealistic to me. Should be more like 240mt on current rates.
And Brazil needs to start focusing on containment, before they lose even more citizens.
