I just saw the negative press (FMG have applied for mining approval on land abutting the area where RIO destroyed cultural caves/sites) on news.com.au (I'm sure it is or will be on other sites too). The traditional owners very much sticking the boot in to FMG at the inquiry.
The report I read made it sound like the traditional owners were looking into whether it may be culturally significant - but then are annoyed that FMG have gone ahead with applying for a mining permit (without sounding insensitive, it is not the place if FMG to decide if or if not an area is of significance - only to work within the framework and rules in place).
