One of the excellent posters here (I can't remember which one, but there are a handful who update us with excellent data each day, with varying information that covers the broad spectrum that is the IO market) posted the stockpiles this week. I believe they were down around 1%.
So no, the price increase hasn't been due to massive stockpiling to screw Australia. It is demand driven at this stage.
