Its exactly as in my other examples, eg Rebar rising 40% doesn’t make the cost of a drive way or the cost of an office building rise 40%.
The end price of the products in which rebar is used is effected very little by the cost of the rebar.
eg. A bridge made of concrete and rebar contains a lot of steel, but the Iron Ore in the steel probably makes up less than 5% of the entire cost of the bridge project.
think about it, is the retail price of nails rising 40cents going to stop you building a $3000 fence?
