ABSTRACT
The total volume of iron ore dispatched to global destinations from the 19 ports and 16 mining companies in Australia and Brazil surveyed by Mysteel recovered to 25.7 million tonnes over August 2-8, gaining 3.8% or 942,000 tonnes on week from the slight dip over the prior week, as added volume from Australia offset the declines from Brazil.
Over the survey period, Australian iron ore shipments from its ten ports bound for global destinations grew to 19.3 million tonnes, a high since June 25 or up by 2.4 million tonnes or 14% on week after a one-week fall. In contrast, Brazilian shipment from its nine ports worldwide retreated
