Since our government (or more precisely this right wing government) declared defacto war on China and labelled her as an enemy, I can appreciate China decoupling from Australia. The concept of tens of billions of dollars of Chinese iron ore money being spent on nuclear subs and Tomahawk missiles to bomb China is laughable.
If we dislike China so much, we can decouple too rather than bitch about it. Best China and Australia decouple and take a time out for a few years or until there is a change of government here and then reassess whether the relationship is worth keeping.
