    interesting article https://www.batterymaterialsreview.com/ourblogs/inflation-and-the-energy-transition-part-4-materials-cost-pass-through-effects/

from a perspective of renewables and inflation but touches on steel / IO

discusses inflationary pressures due to decarbonisation. looks at current cost of H2 as an alternative source of energy for steel production (i didn't know 8% of co2 is from steel production). Then goes on to look at increasing prices for some commodities including steel (though probably not IO).

Particularly interesting to me: mentions that china is looking to reduce excess (export) production of carbon intensive industries like Al and IO. which suggest that twiggy was aware of the various forces in play and was looking to move before he would be left short. i suspect he is a lot smarter (or at least more aware of issues) than people appreciate when it comes to the large investments FMG is making in greening steel.

the author Matt Fernley is an analyst in the renewables area. I was directed to a different article over at the AVZ thread by @Scarpa but kept reading further ... so thanks @Scarpa!
