Exactly.
I'd take on discount on Capital gains than Franking credits any day of the week. That cash in company just hoards and adds to equity value if companies don't pay divs yet produce a lot in cash. Having said that both provisions operate in slightly different way.
Ive sent some managements letters about this. I've thrown questions at investors teleconference at CFOs about this as well, only to be replied back with a generic scripted answer.
