I don't trade shorts as I do not have sufficient expertise and funds. You need to have $5-$10 million as a starting capital to short the stock like FMG. I don't try to beat the market. I use the market to make money. People buy on hype(just like they did in July) or sell in fear( just like they did in October). What is market? A collective opinion of bulls vs bears. Was market right when people were buying at $26 on 29/07/21 or was the market right when they were selling at $14 on 06/10/21. 2 months and a bit between them. Good luck following this market. I’ll follow the fundamentals and my valuations. I follow 3 simple rules.
1. Buy when the stock is low and good value
2. Hold and collect dividends if it’s still low and considerably under my valuation
3. Sell if it’s overpriced
If I buy too early, I may top up. If I sell too early, well I am still in profit. I’d rather make less money than wait to lose money.
