It may come as a surprise to some, a disappointment to others but the often seen phrase ' one of the country's top XYZ analysts' is simply a media conceit.. there are no objective criteria upon which such an assertion can be based.
In my experience the overwhelming majority of analyst types who respond to media enquiries are mediocre fellas, with mediocre talents, leading lives of quiet desperation (w. apologies to Thoreau). They're ignored at home, sidelined at work and thrilled to offer an opinion when flattered by an insincere journalist looking for clickbait headlines...
What they say, what is reported is simply noise.. irrelevant and useless at best, a distraction for the feeble minded.
