I wonder if the dumping a week out from the dividend followed by an intense short selling attack in the week(s) from the ex day will actually happen this time around.
Considering "they" have done it to us 4 times in a row now and every idiot is expecting the same to happen this time..
years ago when FMG (and the others) would go ex dividend this type of short crush didn't really happen. the price would drop by the dividend amount on the day and be recovered within a week or so. Usually. Its a game now. Its a free kick, or it was anyway.
This time it might rally instead and catch everyone off guard. If I was a hedge fund I would do precisely this. Trap everyone.
Everyone who sold expecting the devastating crush of the past cycles gets reamed and has to buy back in!
Or I'm delusional there's always that.
