The record date is meaningless to simple retail investors, it is relevant for other investors who are doing off market transfers etc when the contract date can be in the past.
In saying that, I would favour Link over a retail investor any day:
- When you said you "sold" on the 28/2/22 was that the settlement date or the trade date?
- I presume you sold your stock online via CommSec and there was nothing fancy that went on?
It could be helpful if you post a copy of the section of your contract note with the trade and settlement date specified (only).
