I've just sent them an email as below so I'll let you know what they come back with-
I'm a shareholder in FMG and I note an article in The Australian today which states the following-
Mr Young(Deutsche Bank analyst) noted that the ore shipments by Fortescue so far in November represented an annualised output rate of 129 million tonnes a year, well below its 2018 financial year shipping guidance of 170 million tonnes.
If this is correct would this not be a material impact on the guidance previously provided by the company and if so, based on continual disclosure laws the company needs to come out as soon as possible to the market. If it isn't correct, similarly wouldn't it be prudent by the company to release a statement to the market denying that statement which is clearly causing instability in the marketplace with a decreasing share price as other organisations regularly do?
