I see that we're once again obsessing over the day to day...

I see that we're once again obsessing over the day to day movements in the price of FMG stock.... this despite the fact that FMG does this sort of thing all the time. The question has to be asked - does the share price on any particular day matter to the overwhelming majority of holders ? The answer, imo, would have to be a resounding no.
On any particular day a small fraction of the total shares outstanding is traded on the market and the price reflects the level of buyers and sellers active at the time. It has very little to do with the value of the company or what the company is doing. Very often the buys and sells are largely from the same institution or broker attempting to maintain the price in a narrow band for a large client who wishes to buy or sell without moving the price too much - accumulating or selling at an average of $20 or so and thus buying and/or selling between $19 and $21, as an example..
There is currently very little short interest in FMG but worldwide markets are uncertain, the international situation is complex, many fear recessions looming, interest rates are rising, fuel is expensive and supply chains are broken. These things will all resolve in time but it would be foolish to expect too much from the share price given these factors. However, bear in mind that FMG continues to mine profitably, pay dividends and plan for the future - in time the market will recognize this and the share price will reflect it.
