FMG is doing great! Iron ore prices seem stable around the $130-$140 mark, so much for the piggy with his $50.00 tonne price forecast and a $5.00 FMG share price or was that $2.00? The world is in a mess with the Lunatics from the asylum running the place, inflation is back and with it sky high interests rates, just like the good old days of 17.50% home loans and 25% loans for equipment finance. This happened in the early 90sDo not think that can happen again?, just think of an interest rate of half, home loans 8.5%. No-one will be buying TVs or new fridges or anything apart from pasta and mince. The only bright spot on the share market will be mining stocks such as FMG. they pay fully franked dividends and as long as China keeps pumping up it's economy the price will remain elevated, that and with the surge in inflation will make develop replacement mines prohibitively expensive, the miners should keep paying those great dividends.
Remember that Australia has a wonderful currency that is dropping fast, I hope it gets to 48 cents to the US dollar like it did in 2000s, that will help cushion any falls in the iron ore price.
Looking forward for the next dividend, I will not be posting for a few months as I am off to France to enjoy spending my last lot of FMG dividends. Thanks to most of the contributors, some great insights and to the few others like piggy thanks for the free laughs. I am not worried about electricity in France as they have heaps and heaps of nuclear reactors and about 3.5 Billion dollars of Australian money for subs they did not have to supply.The only problem the French will think that all Australian are as stupid as their political leaders.
